Another attraction is where the river Thur joins the Rhine. A nature reserve with various flora and fauna fills us with peace and tranquillity away from the hectic of everyday.
Surrounding towns and villages with tudor style houses, small castles and colourful country gardens are almost like a setting in a fairytale.
Close by are a number of other attractions such as the imposing monastery and cathedral in Rheinau, historic towns and cities like Stein am Rhein or Schaffhausen,the Isand Mainau “a castle set in a park with sumptious gardens”, look out points and much more.

Biker on the Thur-bridge not far from FlaachFor cyclists there is a compact net of streets and bicycle trails with little traffic. The Rhinefall is only about 50 bicycle minutes away from Flaach.

For over 10 years, the Hotel Engel in Flaach  has been the perfect starting point for our cycling week. Every year new tours on super cycle routes, in all directions possible. Never the same, so many possibilities in a beautiful surrounding. It’s suitable for families as well as hobby cyclists. Long tours, short tours whatever you desire.We’re not exactly teenagers anymore, we range between 61 and 81 years of age and feel super after our daily bike tours. Most important is that we enjoy the hospitality of Fredy and Doris Staub in the “ Engel”. So, dear cyclists, wherever you are, don’t hesitate, off to Flaach to enjoy some biking.
